Trundle

March 2017 – Ongoing

The Trundle walk is an experiential walk aided by a trundle wheel (a tool used to measure space). The wheel measures a metre in circumference and is attached to a handle, which when pushed, signifies every metre travelled with a ‘twang’. The walk is taken in pairs. One person is blindfolded, and pushes the wheel. The other guides them whilst reading from a list of basic instructions, listening to the wheel and counting the metres travelled. Neither party know where they’re travelling.

The walk allows participants to have a new experience of even the most familiar of places.

Currently the walk has taken place in Glasgow and Pardubice. New instructions are created for each place, and the work becomes specific to whichever site it is activated in.
