Boustrophedon is a style of writing in which alternate lines are reversed and mirrored. The term comes from Ancient Greek and translates to “like the ox turns whilst plowing”. Turn Like an Ox is an embodied manifestation of Boustrophedon. Shoes tread text into the ground. The words are both taken with the body and left behind. Footprints tread text into the ground, they cross paths and create new meanings, or overlap and erase one-another. With our feet we ask questions, offer wisdom, speak nonsense, repeat mantras, speculate, contemplate, regurgitate.
